CreBuilder® is the latest rumen-protected guanidinoacetic acid (PR-GAA) developed by Beijing Gendone Biotechnology Co., Ltd. CreBuilder® is a nutritional feed additive, which belongs to "amino acid, amino acid salt and its analogues". CreBuilder® adopts a microcapsule multilayer coating process, which is an ideal creatine source for high-yield ruminants. CreBuilder® supplies more metabolizable guanidinoacetic acid than unprotected products. CreBuilder® is used in ruminant feed to ensure adequate supply of creatine, improve energy efficiency, promote protein deposition, improve performance, slaughter performance, and meat quality, and relieve production stress.
Creatine is a conditionally essential nutrient, whose synthesis requires three amino acids (arginine, glycine and methionine) and three organs (kidney, liver and muscle). In the kidney, arginine transfers its amidino group to glycine to synthesize GAA. Therefore, guanidinoacetic acid is the direct endogenous precursor of creatine in the organism. GAA is transferred to the liver, where S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) gives its methyl group to GAA to synthesize creatine. Creatine is then transported by the bloodstream to the target cells with high energy need, such as skeletal muscle, mammary gland, heart, brain, sperm and immune cells. Creatine plays a key role in energy transfer and supply via creatine-phosphocreatine system. Deitary supplemental CreBuilder® can increase creatine levels in the body by 20%.
